What are the primary applications for a Pneumatic Double Acting Low Pressure Control Valve?

Low pressure applications (300 psi and below). Most commonly, these valves are used as a burner valve in burner management systems.

This valve has a spring acting on the top side of motor diaphragm plate in addition to the signal gas under the diaphragm plate. These valves can be used in liquid or gas applications. Because of the spring load on top of the diaphragm plate, these valves can be set up as fail-closed as long as the upstream pressure force is less than the spring force.

These products themselves do not vent, but the pneumatic signal used to actuate the valves is vented through the pilot. Due to the design, compressed air is not recommended as the actuation air. This is because if there is a failure of the stem packing, compressed air can be injected into the flow stream. To go emissions free with a pneumatic LPCV, it is recommended to use nitrogen gas a supply gas since it is chemically inert.
