Our mission statement is “Making a Difference in the Lives of Those We Serve.” This mission gives us a higher purpose for why we go to work each day—to make a positive difference in people’s lives.
It reminds us that we don’t just run machines, assemble parts, ship products, or push paper. We are part of something bigger than ourselves—a team full of people who contribute toward common goals.

Since 1948 we have been designing, manufacturing, and delivering products producers count on to bring energy to the world. Kimray valves, regulators, and pumps have been industry standards for decades and are unmatched in quality and reliability.
As much as producers count on Kimray products, they trust the people behind them even more. Kimray people listen closely to customer challenges and meticulously design, machine, and assemble the best solutions. We provide these solutions with proactive, personal, ongoing service and support. When our customers need us, we are there.
Our Story: Over 70 Years of Going Beyond Transactions
This is where we started. In 1948 we were a little start-up in Oklahoma City, occupying a small warehouse on what was then the outskirts of a town beginning its post-war boom. Garman Kimmell, the founder of Kimray, introduced a three-inch pilot-operated back pressure regulator, transforming the oil and gas industry. This innovation fundamentally changed how oil and gas producers controlled their production. And that was just the beginning.
Garman instilled more than just technical prowess into the fabric of the company. By basing every action not on profit, but our values, we’ve grown with Oklahoma City. Customers often say they know buying from us is more than just a transaction. After all, part of The Kimray Way is making customers our partners, anticipating their needs, and providing timely solutions that exceed expectations.
In 1950, Garman worked with Charles Sivalls to launch a company called Control Equipment to support the booming oil industry in west Texas. Control Equipment grew to operate out of five locations throughout Texas. In 2021, after many decades of a successful partnership, Kimray acquired Control Equipment and they became part of the core Kimray family.
This industry knows ups and downs. We know booms and busts. Kimray helps get our partners through the lean years and helps you find even better success during the good years. We’re there with you, because it matters.
