This product notice is to inform you that the full port, removable seats used in 2-6” Regulators and Low Pressure Control Valves are being modified from “4-fin” to “2-fin” style.
The current full port seat has four internal “fins”. The new seat will feature a slight design modification and only two “fins” in the inner diameter. This change is driven by continuous improvement efforts to enhance the flow capability for full port regulators and low pressure control valves.
The new 2-fin seats will require updated seat removal tools for removal and installation. The 272SW – 275SW T-Handle style tools were modified to allow for engagement of the mating end of the tool with both the new 2-Fin and old 4-Fin style seats (Full details on this can be found in a previously released product notice: Design Improvement for Kimray Seat Removal Tool).
Kimray recommends ordering the new style seat removal tools to facilitate assembly, disassembly, and general maintenance of Regulator and Low Pressure Control Valve full port removable seats.
Based on current inventories, 3” and 6” seats are being launched first during Q1 2025 and will be followed by the 2” and 4” sizes in Q2 2025.
