Valvcon or Tritex II: Which Electric Actuator is Right for Me?

At the core of the oil industry’s move toward digital, low-emissions operations is the process of control. Specifically, this refers to valves and valve actuation. In our effort to increase our automated solutions, Kimray now offers two electric actuators. Both actuators are effective and distinct.

Let’s take a look at some specific features and typical applications of the Tritex II and the R2L Valvcon Package. Ideally, this will help you decide with electric actuator is right for you.

R2L Valvcon Package

The sleek R2L Valvcon Package consists of a Valvcon Electric Actuator and R2L Adapter. The Valvcon features 13-second actuation, full-closed to full-open. Additionally, This package is easy to install and carries a Class 1, Div 1 explosion-proof rating and battery backup.

Other features include a universal power supply and an onboard heater for cold weather or humidity control. This combination provides a smart, durable, and cost-effective solution for zero-emission valve control.

Tritex II Electric Actuator

The Tritex II Electric Actuator features a fast 5-inches per second actuation. It can be adjusted to any level along the spectrum. Furthermore, producers can use it with Kimray’s entire line of High Pressure Control Valves.

In addition, it carries a Class 1, Div 2 rating. A 12-48VDC provides power, and it requires a computer to program, but does have custom seating capabilities. The Tritex delivers speed, precision, and a long-lasting actuator that requires little to no maintenance.
