In October of 2017 we updated the design of our Lever Hub, used on Kimray Mechanical Valves, Treater Valves, and Trunnion Assemblies. The redesign focused on the keyway section of the Lever Hub. The adjustments we made make the part more versatile and allow for much easier and faster repairs. This video covers the benefits of this change and proper installation.
Benefits
The new lever hub this new design is less prone to twisting and rusting. This makes it easier to take apart when you’re ready to repair your valve. The shaft should easily glide out of the assembly. Again, the new design to the trunnion section of the lever hub means it’s more versatile. Also, it now can be used in mechanical valves, treater valves and the trunnion assemblies
Installation
Now that we’ve covered the benefits, we want to make sure you know how to correctly install the arm on the lever hub assembly. When you receive your valve from Kimray, the arm won’t be attached to the valve body. There’s a specific way that the arm is installed on each type of valve:
- On the mechanical valve, you want to make sure that the arm is facing in towards the inlet of the valve.
- With the treater valve, you want to make sure that the arm is facing away from the inlet of the valve.
- On a trunnion, you will only have room to face it away from the trunnion.
