Kimray, Inc. has donated an additional $30,000 to support the Navarro College Petroleum Technology Program.
These are detailed precision cut-away versions of most of the control equipment found at a typical natural gas well.
They will be used to significantly enhance the level of training offered to the students in the program. This donation brings the total amount training equipment to more than $40,000.
The program began in 2008 with 30 students. Today, more than 200 students are enrolled. To date, over 70 percent of program interns have been placed in full-time positions as lease operators, gas plant operators, compressor technicians, and instrumentation technicians.
“Kimray is proud to partner with Navarro College and we are committed to providing quality products and training as an investment in the future of the oil and gas industry,” said Chris Mencor, Product Manager for Kimray, Inc. “There is high demand for qualified field workers and we appreciate Navarro College’s great training programs that help meet this need.”
In April, the program will celebrate the first anniversary of their new facility, a 17,000 square-foot building located on the college’s Corsicana campus.
Kimray has been instrumental in the completion of this training center by contributing a large quantity of training hardware for the natural gas production and processing labs contained therein.
Kimray’s continued contributions to the Navarro College Petroleum Technology Program have been instrumental to the program’s success,” said Dr. Donald Capone, NC Petroleum and Technology Program chair.
